Mango Modak

Mango modak is made using mango pulp, coconut, milk powder and sugar as main ingredients. Mango flavor in this recipe remains prominent and gives a satisfying taste.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Tbsp Ghee
  • 1/2 cup Mango pulp
  • 1/2 cup Desiccated coconut
  • 1/3 cup Milk powder
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder

Method
 

  1. Heat a pan and add ghee, mango pulp, desiccated coconut, and milk powder. Stir continuously on medium flame until well combined.
  2. Cook the mixture until it begins to thicken.
  3. Sprinkle sugar into the pan. Continue cooking until the mixture becomes thick and starts leaving the sides.
  4. Mix in cardamom powder for flavor.
  5. Transfer the mixture into a bowl and allow it to cool completely.
To Shape the Modaks:
  1. Grease a modak mould and fill it with a portion of the cooled mixture. Close the mould tightly.
  2. Press gently and remove the excess mixture.
  3. Open the mould carefully to reveal the Mango Modak.
  4. Serve as an offering to Lord Ganesha and enjoy with family and friends.

Notes

  • You can use mango pulp if fresh mangoes are not available.
  • Use sugar quantity according to mango taste.
