  • 2 tsp Coriander finely chopped
  • Other Ingredients:
  • Cornmeal or plain flour for dusting
  • 1/4 cup Mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 tsp Mix herbs
  • 1/2 tsp Chili flakes

Method

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a bowl, add 1/4 cup lukewarm water. Stir in sugar and dry active yeast. Leave it for 10 minutes until the yeast froths.
  2. Add all-purpose flour, milk powder, salt, and butter. Mix well to combine.
  3. Gradually pour in lukewarm water and knead until the dough turns soft and smooth.
  4. Tuck the dough, drizzle with oil, and cover the bowl. Rest it for 1 hour in a warm place until the dough doubles in size.
Make Garlic Butter
  1. In a small bowl, mix softened butter with chopped garlic and coriander. Keep aside.
Making Cheese Garlic Bread
  1. Punch down the dough and knead lightly for a minute.
  2. Divide it into two equal portions.
  3. Sprinkle cornmeal on the rolling surface. Take one portion and roll it into an oval shape.
  4. Spread garlic butter evenly over the dough. Place mozzarella cheese on one half.
  5. Sprinkle mixed herbs and chili flakes. Fold the dough in half and seal the edges tightly.
  6. Transfer to a baking tray. Spread garlic butter on top and score light marks with a knife.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (390°F) for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Brush with butter, slice, and serve hot with soup or as a snack.
Making Garlic Bread Flower
  1. Take the second portion of dough and divide it into four equal parts. Roll each into a ball.
  2. Dust the surface with cornmeal. Roll one dough ball into a circle and spread garlic butter on top.
  3. Fold it in half, then pinch the edges together to form a petal.
  4. Repeat with the remaining balls to make four petals.
  5. Arrange them on a greased baking pan in the shape of a flower.
  6. Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Brush with butter and enjoy hot, either with soup or on its own.

Notes

  • You can use lukewarm milk instead of water  to knead the dough, in that case avoid milk powder.
