Dry Fruits Modak

Dry Fruit Modak Recipe made with figs, dates, and nuts. A healthy, no-cook, sugar-free sweet perfect for Ganesh Chaturthi or guilt-free snacking.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup Dates
  • 1/2 cup Figs
  • 1/4 cup Chopped almonds
  • 1/4 cup Chopped cashew
  • 2 Tbsp Chopped pistachio
  • 2 tsp Ghee

Method
 

Steps to Make Dry Fruit Modak
  1. In a grinding jar, add 1 cup dates and ½ cup figs. Grind coarsely. Do not make a paste.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a pan. Add 2 tsp ghee. Cook on medium flame for 1–2 minutes until soft.
  3. Add chopped almonds, cashews, and pistachios. Mix well.
  4. Turn off the flame when the mixture reaches a dough-like consistency.
  5. Transfer into a bowl. Let it cool completely.
To Shape the Modaks:
  1. Take a portion of the mixture. Fill a greased modak mould and close tightly.
  2. Remove excess mixture. Press gently to shape.
  3. Open the mould. Take out the Dry Fruit Modak.
  4. Offer to Lord Ganesha and enjoy with family and friends.

Notes

  • Prefer good quality and soft dates and figs for the best result.
  • If your modak mixture is too tight add a tsp of ghee or milk to make it soft.
  • If your modak mixture is too soft and couldn’t able to hold shape, add some dry fruits powder to bind it well.
  • You can use your favorite dry fruits to make this modak.
