Mango Modak – A Sweet Fusion for Ganesh Chaturthi

Mango Modak is a delicious Indian sweet often prepared as an offering to Lord Ganesha. It is especially popular during Ganesh Chaturthi. Traditional versions from coastal Maharashtra and Goa are made with rice flour, coconut, and jaggery.
This modern version uses ripe mango pulp, coconut, and milk powder. It is creamy, fruity, and melts in your mouth. The golden color makes it look festive and inviting.
Mango Modak is easy to make. It works well both as a prasad offering and as a sweet treat for guests. I have used fresh mango pulp for the best flavor. If mangoes are unavailable, canned mango pulp works perfectly too.
Whether you want something quick for the aarti or a show-stopping treat for family, Mango Modak delivers tropical flavor in every bite. It’s loved by both children and adults.
During Ganesh Chaturthi 2020, I challenged myself to share one unique modak recipe every day for 11 days. This creative journey was incredibly rewarding. You can watch all of them in my 11 Modaks YouTube playlist and explore even more festive sweet ideas.
